"I only watched this because my 22-year-old son wanted to watch it for rapper Jack Harlow’s acting debut — surprisingly, my son thought it was alright (worth 3 stars), but this #remake didn’t hit the mark for me the way the original did… but maybe I’m just partial to the charm of the “old school” version… I’d rather leave my comments (or a review) on the original movie. 🏀 🏀 "
"It is criminal that they stole the name "White Men Can't Jump" from such a beloved classic movie and slapped it on this pile of crap. At no point in this lame attempt at a remake did I laugh or even crack a smile. The writing is horrible, the characters are unlikable, and the story is practically non-existent. 1/10"
"I’m putting my foot down and not watching this. There needs to be some kind of entity to oversee these things. I’m starting it. Mia and Nick are co-chairs. I’ll do sports. Craig can do sci-fi, Russ superhero’s, Rhon thrillers, Sonya kids movies and Errika disaster/shark movies. If you want a genre, comment. Any time anyone wants to remake a classic movie, our panel watches it and if it’s at least now as good or better as the original, they’re not allowed to release it. Oh, and if anyone watches this, let me know if it’s as bad as I think. "
"Yeah this is what you call a pathetic attempt at a remake nobody asked for. The original is one of my favorite basketball sports comedy’s of all time. The 1992 classic didn’t need an update. Especially in 2023 where everybody is scared to take risk and play everything by the book. The script is very pale in comparison. The original actually had a soul and was much more then just a comedy. They literally take the same scenes and try to modernize them for the worse. This plays out like a R-rated Disney movie. It’s not as raw as the original. Honestly Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls never really had a chance or the star power to live up to the duo of Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson. It was somewhat better then I thought it would be but that’s not saying much because I had very very low expectations."

"When I saw the screenplay was written by and one of the film producers was Kenya Barris, it all made sense. Blake Griffin was another producer who makes a small cameo at the end, which I wasn’t expecting. I appreciated the inclusion of Tyler Herro at the end (one of the songs that aided in Jack Harlow becoming as big as he is). There were little things that I liked about the movie, but overall, it was an unnecessary remake that I won’t watch again."
"This is a remake no one asked for. They do a decent job getting the overall vibe of the original however everything else is wrong. Moat of the jokes are dated and not funny....the basketball scenes are choreographed poorly with guys overreating to moves in slow motion and jump cuts of shots going in....the acting is subpar but the writing doesn't help them out at all....watch the original again and skip this one."
