"This is a non-stop action film starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. An inventor purposely releases his A.I. from Virtual Reality and he goes on a violent killing spree. Denzel Washington must be the cat who catches the mouse. The acting is good, and I was impressed by the concept and quality of the virtual reality in the 1990s. Warning: ⚠️ There are kidnapping scenes and violent shootings, which may be a trigger to some viewers. "
"A film of crime and action with a touch of sci-fi as a new virtual reality system is tested out for police officers, against an A.I. with a personality mixed from many criminals named SID. Worth watching as the former cop takes on SID when he is brought from VR into the physical world, as his knowledge about a personality within SID helps to and hinders the case"
"This is nothing short of a bonkers film, filled with very unique ideas and surprises. This takes a wholly unique approach to its commentary on AI, with a focus on VR and characters jumping into the real world. Hands down the MVP is the concept, followed by the performances of Denzel Washington and most especially Russell Crowe, who really seems to have an incredibly fun time with this role (Crowe’s performance really is this movie). I especially love how Denzel Washington’s and Russell Crowe’s performances serve as foils to each other (one being the grounded one and the other being an over-the-top crazy one), and this is a case where the two work together remarkably well IMO. I personally really dug this film despite its obvious imperfections. I really love the fact that it is trying something unique even if doesn’t work 100% of the time. Without question it is worth checking out."
