The explorer craft USS Palomino is returning to Earth after a fruitless 18-month search for extra-terrestrial life when the crew comes upon a supposedly lost ship, the USS Cygnus, hovering near a black hole. The ship is controlled by Dr. Hans Reinhardt and his monstrous robot companion, but the initial wonderment and awe the Palomino crew feel for the ship and its resistance to the power of the black hole turn to horror as they uncover Reinhardt's plans.

"An adventure mystery in space as a group of explorers come upon a ship parked closely to a black hole, the crew finds the ship fully automated with only one crew on board who seeks the knowledge inside the black hole! Worth watching if you enjoy a mystery adventure as the dark history of the ship comes to light, over little bits of information by those with knowledge of the past!!!"
"What a fever dream of a movie. The characters are blah as heck and their motivations are so opaque and hammy, but the visuals are some of the prettiest practical effects I’ve ever seen in a sci-fi film. Enjoy for every robot being murderous and sociopathic, the absolutely batshit dialogue, and some of the most inappropriately frantic background music ever synced 🤣"
"The Black Hole is one of my favorite films from my childhood. It borrows heavily from the original Star Trek series in its tempo and science heavy story. The sets and robots are amazing for the time and most of the special effects are outstanding. It throws us a wild curve ball at the end that messed with me as a kid. Also the musical score by John Barry is one of his best. Too cool!!!"
"The quality of this movie was horrible. Just looked cheaply made
