"I can not believe I watched like 90% of this and skimmed the rest. The kids poured their hearts out on that stage. The singing just wasn’t very good. The choreography was simple. It had to be simple though, because the boy that played Trevor was on the stage 98% of the play. No way he could dance for that long without a water break. I can’t believe how much s*x was talked about in this film. And then a child overdosing. This movie is seriously messed up. If you are lgbt just skip it. If you are a hater why would even bother watching it in the first place, but for sure skip it. It has a sort of happy ending but it’s only in like the last 8 minutes and isn’t worth it. So just everyone should skip it. I’m sure the actors will get better and be in much better things later on in life. I can’t act myself, nor sing, so they got me beat. "
"It was sad yet empowering at the same time if you get what I mean. Like he goes through some rough bullying because who he is, but what if that is what made him stronger? Yes the bullying caused him to do something heartbreaking, but when he woke up there was an amazing volunteer. He broke social standards and helped Trevor see that different isn’t all bad, it can be a blessing as well as a curse. He then came back to school stronger, and ultimately happier. "
