"The acting in this movie was superb! The American and Brit actors were superb together. I am still trying to figure out if this was a dark comedy with serious messaging or a serious movie with moments of dark comedy. Jaymes Samuel is pushing the envelope and I'm here for it! Also the soundtrack is immaculate!"
"A variation on the story and time of Jesus told from the perspective of a false prophet. The Roman scenes of torture are quite brutal. There are scenes of sublime beauty and lyricism. The film is a bit disjointed either way the first third comedic and cynical, the second focused on linking the story and the variation and the third focused on the torture and death. "
"First of all, a very interesting ensemble of a cast: The very talented Lakeith Stanfield, Teyana Taylor, kid from stranger things, James McAvoy (great in his minor appearance), Benedict Cumberbatch...just to name a few from this unexpected cast who make-up this biblical comedy. This movie is trippy, contemporary, and bold. However, the this film was tonaly all over the place. And ehat I see as random and unnecessary romance plot lines will always quickly make a film unenjoyable to me. Overall, eccentric and fun, but wasn't the best storytelling."
"When I saw this movie in theaters I was sad to see it end! This movie has a great cast, beautiful acting, and overall just a good vibe. Being Christian, I usually find most movies about Christianity kinda boring. But THIS was an amazing movie OVERALL! Not to mention the soundtrack?! π©π½βπ³πππ½"
