"This 5-episode series is based on disturbingly true events. It premiered today & so far I’ve watched the first episode & I’m about to watch the 2nd (the final 3 episodes are due to be released each day, successively). So far, so good! 👏🏽👏🏽 The first episode successfully pulled me in & it set up the main characters in this dramatic true-crime story. I’m ready for more! Good suspense! #Hulu"
"Really enjoyed this an easy binge with a great performance by Jessica Biel"

"Short series and really gets to the point! It doesn’t extend it and adds unnecessary information it was perfect! I enjoyed it and it really filled in the space! I was hooked and obsessed! The aesthetics are beautiful. A perfect suburban family turns out to not be so perfect and getting involved in a crime! It might have been Candy ‘s crime but it affected their whole family! #Hulu #crime #truecrime #mystery #1980s "
"I’m such a fan of the true crime and period pieces so when you put that together it’s perfect for me. My god is this story shocking crazy wild especially because I knew nothing about the crime. Hulu is really producing these true crime mini series. I can’t believe Jessica Biel is 40 years old now because she definitely don’t look it.. She has such longevity in her career. I still remember when I was a kid watching her on 7th heaven some of y’all might remember that show lol……..This series is a must watch for any true crime fan."

"Strangely enough, I liked the 1990 CBS TV movie better than this 5-part Hulu original. I liked how Barbara Hershey portrayed Candy better than Jessica Biel. That's not to say that Jessica wasn't excellent because she always is, in my opinion. It just felt more accurate in the way Barbara presented her actions. Some might disagree because Jessica showed a solid reaction of fear for being found out while Barbara was very much out of touch with reality, therefore allowing her to go on with her day-to-day life without showing any fear at all. For someone who went through something as a young child that caused her to never be able to express any anger or aggression, it felt more accurate that they would disassociate from the event where they WERE very much angry and aggressive.
Also, I didn't like the part in Candy where they were having snacks & discussing how she could have killed someone with an axe. It was being talked about way too casually. Then there was the introduction of another infidelity, which I didn't happen in real life. It just made Candy seem less relatable & more of a closet adulteress. And then to not even give us the name of the man was just jarring. It didn't add up for me.
The final straw was how she acted after the trial, as though everything can now go back to normal, no big deal. And her almost wicked smile at the camera. That isn't how I envisioned the real Candy to behave/react after the ordeal. It all of a sudden felt like an agenda AGAINST Candy instead of an accurate depiction of the actual events, obviously with some fiction thrown in because no one can know EVERYTHING that happened. But fiction doesn't mean throwing in stuff that DIDN'T happen, like another affair or a final shot of Candy as a possibly wicked & self-centered person. I'm not saying she wasn't, but that has not been introduced before. Just that she had a tremendous break from reality due to a traumatic (for her) childhood.

"The burn was too slow in this docudrama. I felt a lag throughout and felt like I was always waiting for the series to move a bit better. 🌟Pros: The performances were good most notably Jessica Biel as Candy. It was interesting seeing Justin Timberlake as the deputy and he pulled it off nicely. I think my favorite aspect of this series was the dedication to setting; in this case the 80’s. However, with all of the content these days I would pass on this series. "
