"Anachronistic samurai anime from Shinichiro Watanabe. It's heavily influenced by hip hop culture in a number of fascinating ways. The art is fluid and tonally appropriate. The jokes are consistently funny. There's a recurring theme of the historical oppression of the poor and minorities in Japan, which lends relevant drama to the episodes. Most of the episodes are largely self-contained, so there's not a lot of complex continuity to keep up with, just the central quest. Liked it more than Bebop."
"I know its a 5 star if i would watch it again. I'm also rating this 5Stars because I love the historical references, the hip-hop, the swordsmanship. All of it ties in really nicely and the art style itself is beautiful. Though, it is something I can just watch while multitasking - and it's not something that I'm always going to be on my toes for - I love it for that for being that."
