" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very good doc that covers Janet’s entire career starting at age 7 up to now. I always had some fascination and respect for how she did a complete 180 back in the 80s with Control, and came away with even more respect for the strength it took to get out from under Joe Jackson’s wing, demand to make her own way and the talent she truly had to make it happen, despite being dragged into the family business with no initial desire to be an entertainer. The doc does skip, jump and gloss over a few things and I was left with some questions. It doesn’t satisfactorily cover the 2004 Super Bowl incident which the whole world completely overreacted to and she was unfairly vilified and blacklisted. Even then there were worse *offenses* in the world of entertainment. Why her? I think Janet, a strong black woman who unapologetically owned her sexuality on her terms, in this circumstance was a convenient scapegoat to put such women in their place. However the incident occurred, she did not deserve to lose her entire career over it. Nonetheless fighting her way through, getting inducted into the R&RHOF and becoming a mother at age 50, she seems very happy now. And I’m happy for her. "
