"⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pretty decent, entertaining miniseries that focuses on historical topics that aren't often discussed, such as male drag. Includes some of that 2000s style of camp, especially with the cinematography. The time period is a bit all over the place though: The book it is based on is set in the 1890s while the dresses are actually pretty accurate for the Natural Form Era, which was during the 1870s. There's nothing wrong with slightly deviating the timeline from that of the source material...but the show mentions The Picture of Dorian Gray, which was published in 1890."
"This is a great show and great piece of lesbian media. It’s really sad to watch at some points because our main character goes through many heartbreaks and strifes but she pushes through and it pays off in the end! There are some more explicit sex scenes which I’m not always a fan of but this show actually is saying a lot with the direction those scenes go. They become more intimate and less raunchy as time goes on. The editing of the film is a cute choice too it definitely does well with the 1890s theatre themes. "
