"This documentary is incredible so much foresight. Kanye and his mother relationship is so beautiful and you can really understand why he is the way he is. She instilled so much in him and believed in him just as much as he beloved in himself. I can actually remember Kanye back in 2001 when he was just a producer on Roc-a-Fella. If you weren’t a big Jay-z Rocafella fan then you probably didn’t even know who Kanye West was back then. But after so long you kind of forget that and him documenting his life way before he even really blew up was such a smart thing to do.You don’t have to be a fan of Ye to enjoy it. Wish I didn’t have to wait a week for the new episode."

"As a girl from not that far south of Chicago, I grew up listening to Kanye as he was just breaking into music. This first episode brought back so much nostalgia for that time, for the old Ye, for the music and for my home. Can’t wait for the next episode. Really well done and shows so much depth to him, his career as well as of the filmmaker, Coodie, who chronicles the last 20 years of his life."

"Hardwork and resilience. True story intellectually told and thought provoking. The car accident episode had me feeling like crying. The physical and emotional pain was nearly unbearable, yet he did. I have always loved Jamie Foxx. This episode just triple sealed the deal. Coodie is everything, Peroid. A must see for everyone. #documentary #kanyewest #jamiefoxx #musicalgeniuses #coodie #brilliant "
