The Quest

"Let me explain something first. It is a reality show with a fantasy script going on around the people. Actors and actresses are given overall scripts but must improvise too. At least that was the original idea in the original version of this show. This version was good if not a bit cringey at times, however unlike the original series that this one ripped off the ending seemed scripted. In the original, it was a sword fight so it was a bit more believable the competitor would know how to win. This one its magic based so either the kids just assumed the magic worked when it did and precisely how well it did, disney created real magic, or they scripted the ending and told them what to do. Not bad. But this is supposed to be a reality show. Plus, I don't know if it's just because they were teens but the dialogue they offered was just subpar and cringey half the time. The show was sort of like that in the original too just not this bad. Actual scripted stuff was great tho"

"A unique combination of reality (competition) and fantasy (the story). While i do wish we had more focus on our paladins (the teens), I wouldn’t say that its a mystery what theyre thinking and feeling. I think this is a great show for people seeking a simple competition, without the over-the-top drama littering the reality genre. It’s also befitting for fans of fantasy video games which is very obviously the structure/inspiration of this plot, and LARPing."
