"Not much complaints really. But maybe it’s just me but the tone just isn’t the same. Could be a lot of things. I haven’t rewatched the original show for a while. So maybe I’m flat out wrong. Plus I am obviously older now so maybe I just don’t take it as seriously .
The only other complaint is I miss the old filter or whatever the look of it is actually called. Just feels too clean really.
I do love lots of the new camera work though. Plus the music choices to an extent.
I will say there wasn’t a ton of action. But I really just love the dialogue in this show. Plus it is split into two seasons from what I understand.
Did enjoy the action it just feels faster which isn’t a complaint but my eyes aren’t as advanced as they once were so sometimes I have to skip back.
Love the buildup to him becoming daredevil again. I love how much he actually changes when he becomes daredevil. It’s cool to see it really takes a toll on him.
Probably why he’s my favorite marvel character now. Feels a lot more grounded which I’m realizing I prefer in many stories.
Really enjoyed this every episode was honestly solid. My least favorite was 6 because found Fisk’s part to be pretty boring.
Favorite was still one mainly because how excited I felt returning to these characters and such. Plus it was a pretty light episode which helped me ease back into the show.
I really like Charlie Cox makes me happy to see him back.
Can’t wait for season 2 or would it be 5 technically?
I’m sure it’ll be a lot more action packed. Shame John wasn’t in here much."
"Two episodes in, and it’s thankfully very good. It’s kept the darkness we remember from the first DD series. Plenty of quiet moments in between the scenes which propel the story but there’s also the grittiness, suspense, and action you’d expect from a “superhero” show.
It feels like a graphic novel come to life because there are snapshots of drama with lines in between the scenes where the reader/viewer fills in the gaps with their own thoughts/feelings/hopes for the characters and the story’s outcomes.
Daredevil is one of the darker Marvel heroes, IMO. This show is so far successful in depicting that.
*update; 4 episodes in and it’s still great 👍 "
"I was all about Netflix's Daredevil -- a fresh, phenomenal blend of grit, tightly choreographed action, and humor all expertly balanced out.
Cut to 2025, and we get a return for Daredevil with a gritty pilot 99% devoid of charm/humor, and a solitary action scene vastly lacking former competence.
Maybe the rest of the season makes up for the pilot; I was driven too depressed/disappointed to find out."
"It’s been a while since we’ve seen DD on screen and this absolutely does not disappoint. As of this moment I am not sure how it’ll go by the end, but you can be sure it’ll be fun.
Don’t worry about remembering too much beyond who the characters are. If you must, just look up a screenrant recap to read and you’re caught up."
