"I don’t usually like the whole anatomy of a marriage trope, but this was good/weird and kind of depressing. 6 short episodes. The one thing that kept me watching was how great an actor James Corden is. Blew me away. If you watch this prepare to be irately mad, confused and then get madder yet. I know I don’t make this show sound appealing but I’ll say it’s good art. There’s also a really good, totally out of left field performance from Sally Hawkins that has almost nothing to do with the plot of the show. "
"James Corden is actually better than I expected, but "Mammals" is a scattered mess. Weird subplot about one character's psychosis appears completely unconnected to the rest of the plot. Main story ends up feeling totally unjustified. I felt sorry both for the animals and the actors. Very wonky script from a renowned playwright."
