"This is a very relatable, fresh, and historically broad look at how life at the court of King Henry VIII may have been for Anne Boleyn. We see how and by what Anne may have been influenced by religiously and politically. The episodes are very honest about the bad behavior of the royals, the sexual adventures, and the ambition of those at court. The only thing I didn't like about the series is the modern music."

🌟6.5/10🌟 Fun to watch if you’re a fan of historical stories; I’ve seen better, more factual documentaries, but this 3-part series is perfectly fine for anyone who’s a “newbie” & wants to learn some quick basic facts about #TheTudors —
This is a #DocuDrama — or a dramatization combined with a documentary-style commentary in order to explore the private lives of #AnneBoleyn and #KingHenryVIII ~ Occasional experts provide historical context & background info about life in the Tudor age, & offer #speculative commentary for the story that’s playing out.
This has a #modern & #saucy spin to it with its hip music & 21st century dialogue (which do not match the period piece aesthetic), and “Anne” breaks the fourth wall here by making a clear connection to the audience when speaking to them. ⚠️ #sex #nudity

"I watch pretty much everything Tudor I can.. but I’m not a fan of this series. While it did have historical experts to provide context to the “docudrama”, I felt that it made too many choices creatively to make this appealing to younger people who may not be “into” history or understand the value of history. Additionally, taking such an epic piece of history and cutting it into 3 episodes doesn’t do the history justice. "

"An entertaining watch I hadn’t known I needed to check out until I watched the film about Elizabeth I, Queen of England. This modern take on a historical story was both sad and interesting. It’s about Anne Boleyn (queen Elizabeth I’s mother) and king Henry VIII’s story, which had so many twists and turns. I liked the cinematography and the vibrant colours. To me, the hip music is reminiscent of that in Dickinson (the series) although I don’t think it adds much difference here as the comic effect it has created in Dickinson- and that felt a little awkward. I liked the idea of including experts to comment in between the story parts to add some historical facts. Not a fan of tragic endings, but all in all, it was informative. "

"I enjoyed this. It was a nice mix of providing the back story of what was happening. "
