"I truly loved this show, more than I expected to - as in, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to watch it at all, and I'm so glad I did! I personally love puzzles and games of strategy, and this show caters exactly to that by taking ordinary games and adding their own twists that definitely make everyone reconsider how they'd normally play. I wouldn't say this show is for everyone, it's definitely not a show you can passively watch and still understand. The games can get really complicated, (not all of them are) but as an example: the first game took 7 minutes to explain. The instructions are done really well, and while the contestants play they help explain what's going on with quick reminders/explanations. I recommend!"
"Twelve men and women live together in a beautiful, custom-made "home" for one week. The living space has a door that leads to the gaming area where they compete in games. The morning games are where the contestants can earn Pieces, which are necessary to win games and ultimately win the entire pot of cash, which could be as much as 5000,000,000 Korean won. At the current market value, that comes to approximately $362,000 American dollars. The morning games are also a time to outwit, outsmart, and out-double-cross the other opponents. L
The games can be quite difficult to understand if you don't have a liking for complicated strategy games. I read a quote about the show, "The genius of The Devil's Plan is that its games are simple yet multilayered, offering opportunities for the players to prioritize self-interest over the group's success." There is one word in this quote that I don't agree with. SIMPLE! They are definitely multilayered but they aren't simple. It can take more than five minutes just for the guy in the mask (MC?), who is shown on a screen sitting in a chair in what looks to be an empty warehouse, to explain the directions, possibly up to ten minutes but I didn't time it. The directions are intense and complicated, especially since the MC never stops talking. The directions are given in his monotone and modulated voice, without breaks for the players to take notes. They are best to not even talk during this part or they could miss valuable information. I love the games they played but only after watching them play. I have a good brain for these kinds of games but I almost quit watching in the first episode after listening to the MC drone on and on and on about how to play the first game! But once the gameplay begins, it gets fun, so don't give up right away!
