"There is definitely some English dubbing in the show, so you gotta relax around that. I myself hadn't seen 1960's Germany really represented in film or TV before (as an american). I was drawn in by that factor pretty strongly.
I appreciated the depiction of the various German point of views, including the callousness of the defendants (Aushwitz Commanders & Directors).
I have been fascinated by the social psychologist Stanley Milgram and by the time this series, and the trial was over. All I could think of was him. He studied what he did because of this specific trial and what their defense was "I was just following the orders of my authority,". It seems like a ruse to not take account for your own, physical actions. There is human fault here.
I have come to conclusions of my own from my studies, but enough on that.
I think it's a show worth watching if you are interested in the topic and the history. I have not checked how factual all the events in the series are, but I imagine they are not too far off the mark. One episode involves a visit to Aushwitz in the 60's. It appeared very real, and I am going to have to look and see if they really went on location.
Edit - it does appear that they really did film at Auschwitz Concentration Camp. I can't imagine there are many shows that do, so it sticks out for that reason to me. "
