"I appreciate every piece of indigenous cinema I've had the pleasure to view. This was no different. Very sad story, heartfelt, definitely brought me to tears more than once. The travesties committed against indigenous communities continues today and that breaks my heart. There were a few things I didn't like about this show- some parts were painfully slow, repetitive, or felt unnecessary, the main character was not my favorite, and sometimes it felt like an hours long Marlboro commercial with the excessive smoking. Still a beautiful story. "
"I’m on episode 3 as I write this. The telling of this story is of one family torn….and I mean TORN apart during the 60s scoop and one daughters fight to learn where she came from and reconnect. The actress who plays the mother who’s children are stolen from her… my god… even writing this I am in tears. I say to you… without Recognition there is no Reconciliation. The telling of Indigenous experience at the hands of colonialism is so important. Watch and listen with an open heart. Here is our way forward. I highly recommend this series. "

"This is an excellent series. It deals with Canadian policies related to native citizens. It is heartbreaking but needs to be told."
