"J-drama with English subtitles. A good but unoriginal time travel show with an extremely handsome bad boy as one of the three lead characters!
Ten 45-minute episodes made this is fairly quick binge. It was definitely cheesy in areas and that has to do with the script but also a LOT to do with the music. More often than not, the music didn't match up with the scene and really takes you out of the feelings you're supposed to be feeling. A few minutes before each episode ends, this light-hearted music comes on, no matter what the scene is. I really hated that. I watched it without high expectations so I ended up enjoying it overall.
Basically a subway car full of people ends up in the future. How far into the future? You'll have to watch for yourself. There they have to come to terms with their predicament, figure out how not to die of thirst and starvation, how to keep their spirits up, and how to get home, if that's even possible. Personalities clash, of course. There are some mean, stubborn, and/or pessimistic people, also of course. It can be both uplifting and incredibly irritating at the same time. Yuki Yamada definitely kept me happy to keep watching the show. Also, the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, if you read one websites review, but in my opinion it was resolved. I guess it's all in how you choose to interpret one person's reaction to a phone call at the end. There probably won't be another season so I'm going with my gut on this ending but I won't tell you what it is. That's up for you to interpret.
3.5/5*s, rounded up to 4/5*s because I got enjoyment out of my time watching.
