"This 10 episode situation comedy isn't groundbreaking but it is humorous enough to grab and hold my attention for its entirety. Kate Hudson is lovable as a former party girl that has to step in for her brother to run the family's pro basketball team, when he checks himself into rehab. At first, she's unsure of herself but proves time and again that she knows her stuff, in spite of her awkward tendencies. She is surrounded by a likeable cast and each episode is about a half an hour which makes it an easy binge watch. It's not laugh out loud funny but it is enjoyable. 7.5/10"
"Intriguing story that manages to hook you with a cliffhanger or big revelation at the end of each episode. It won't stick in your mind but you will want to finish it.
First off, it has all the cliches of a typical Netflix original. Leaning hard into an R rating the first few episodes, then slowly losing the excessive cuss words as it continues. It will still cuss, but not as much as the first episode shows. Plus, it can't be a Netflix original without some sex scenes littering about. Which come at a surprise & are never actually central to the story. They just provide some humor or disgusting stuff that Netflix is just obsessed with lately.
Now, here's the kicker. Obviously, it's a women empowerment storyline. Yet it's actually done well. . .shocker. Point is, she recognizes her hardships and pushes through them. Every empowerment does that. They don't dwell on it and say it sucks they power through and make the parts that make them different a strength. It was honestly refreshing. I also loved the attention to detail in the way that doing the right thing and actually trying (which so many main characters fail to do and makes them less likeable) doesn't always equate to happy times. I won't spoil the moments, but doing something you know in your heart to be the right choice will not always work out. This series showcases that. Not always, but when it does, it works. It comes as a shock to the viewer and characters.
Overall, the characters are likable and actually feel realistic in a way I haven't really felt before. Sure, they lean into their obscurity at times, but they grow as real people do. Not drastically but subtly, and they do what that person would do in those moments. Seeing them act in the first episode compared to the finally you see they learn but don't completely change which is not only refreshing, but great to watch as a real human being. Good show that I will be looking forward to season 2. I won't drop everything but I will watch it."
"Very mixed feelings about it. I honestly only watched it because there is NOTHING else on Netflix, but by the end of the season my curiosity was piqued. If a second season comes out soon I'd probably watch it but otherwise will probably drop it because it's a forgettable but entertaining(sometimes) watch"
"Such a fun series!! Comedy, drama, romance. It really had it all. I loved it. I am hoping for season 2!"

"I like funny shows to watch before bed, and this struck the right chord. Kate Hudson is Isla Gordon, who’s appointed to the top slot to manage the Waves, an LA basketball team, after her brother goes to rehab. If you liked Hudson in rom-coms, you will be pleased with her in-and-out of the locker room role "
