"Travis Kelce needs to STOP hanging out with Taylor and stop doing #HULU shows and start focusing on catching the pigskin because he SUCKS right now!! 😜🏈
JK! 😉 Hopefully, he’ll be back in beast mode soon, ready to catch passes and dominate the field again…Until then, GROTESQUERIE looks to be perfect for #Halloween season!
And yes, Kelce even makes an appearance in this series – though I’m hoping his acting is better than his catching lately!😅 Thankfully, we’ll also get to see more from Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who just rocked the co-starring role as Lyle Menendez in #MONSTERS season two. Plus, the fabulous Ms. Niecy Nash, an #Emmy winner for MONSTERS season one, is back!
▪️ Episodes One & Two were both eerily creepy… but so far, it’s a painful, slow-burning mystery. However, something dark seems to be bubbling just beneath the surface, and I hope the pace will significantly quicken and the tension will ramp up soon!!🤞 Once again, I’m captivated by the performances of Nash and Chavez, but I’m eagerly awaiting for a big twist ASAP! ‼️

"4.5⭐️ Raging alcoholic detective tracks ritualistic serial killer with help from one crime obsessed nun reporter with mad crush on freaky deaky priest Nicholas Alexander Chavez. Yes, Lyle Menendez from MONSTERS. Seems he is specializing in the freaky deaky and bringing it to even new more aberrant levels.
This show is W. E. I. R. D and gets weirder as it goes along. The dogged determination to keep the audience off kilter is downright commendable. And while it elicits a bizarre, macabre fascination, I was fully prepared to give maybe a 3⭐️ rating. The title is about as apt as it gets. Every single episode I questioned why, why did I keep going? Around ep 7 that question starts to get answered. Enigmatically, off-balancing for sure, everything massively flipped on its head, and I‘m totally, captively sucked in. And still, it’s not done messing with us. No solid ground in all the ungodly madness. NONE
At its essence though, GROTESQUERIE is an exploration of trauma .. individual as well as societal in the way present circumstances are changing humankind, a horror in itself. You may or may not be able to get past the strange, over the top storyline and all its grotesqueness, but if you do it’s worth it.
Also, to say Niecy Nash is a revelation is an understatement. The layers of her addiction are unnervingly unending and authentic. Everything about her performance STUNNING. Micaela Diamond, Raven Goodwin and Leslie Manville are revelations themselves. Yes, Kelce is in there too. He’s serviceable.
I know not all will appreciate this show, and I shocked myself to be giving one of my highest ratings. In all its artistic, otherworldly strangeness though, while not for everyone, really it is about EVERYONE. And yes, a very dark, disturbing, compelling and crazy ride to get there!"
"This is an odd sexy little horror TV show. It started off slow for me but it's gotten much better nearing the final episodes..it's beautifully shot and so creative and full of very real "end of days" messaging...all of the actors and actresses are giving it their all...Including the surprisingly good Travis Kelce! I'm in it until the end."
"This was some Twin Peaks-level weird, and it’s just not for me. It was hard to follow and became a chore to finish; and when it did, no answers were provided and no conclusion was reached. I understand this is meant to be multiple seasons, but there’s no way I’m watching more of this. "
"Absolutely phenomenal performance from Niecy. It is very much in line with Ryan Murphy’s signature style, more so from his earlier works. I have to say it is quite grotesque and the gore is definitely present and beautifully done. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for a complete re-work of the plot (knowing this is what Murphy has been known to do) and we got just that around Ep 7. I’m interested to see the remainder of the season! "
"I felt like this show could have been way better. It started out strong, and then it got dry for a while, and at the very end, it had the potential to be great again, but it fell way short, in my opinion. It's not a terrible show in general by any means, but it's lacking that "wow" factor in my book. "
"Worst show I’ve ever seen. That is not hyperbole, it’s really that horrible. It looks bad, it’s poorly acted (for the most part as our lead actually is trying very hard to save this sinking ship), the narrative is nonsensical, and the dialogue feels AI generated, but even that is doing a disservice to the advancements in AI technology of today. HOWEVER… I highly recommend it. I know it sounds crazy, but follow me. This is the first television series I’ve ever watched that I found so bad that it’s actually funny. Typically I seek out movies of this nature, loving to poke fun in the many holes of bad horror movies, but I’ve never once watched a show that gave me that same feeling. Shows are so much more of a time investment, so if by the end of me watching a season of a series I feel like it’s bad, I regret having watched it. But instead, I felt like I had to spread the glory that is this dumpster fire to the whole world. I watched the first 4 episodes by myself. Then I forced my aunt to watch the first 6 with me. And then after she’d drunk the horrible kool-aid, we have made my girlfriend and my uncle sit down and watch the first 8 episodes with us. While me and my aunt are in the camp that this abomination of a show is the epitome of so bad it’s funny, my girlfriend and uncle actually hate us for making them watch it, finding no enjoyment in it and just deeming it to be one of if not the worst show they’ve ever seen. Meanwhile, from the online discourse I’ve seen, people are LOVING IT. Not because it’s so bad, but because they actually find it so well done, meaning I’m in the minority thinking it’s complete and utter garbage. So please, I encourage you to give this show a watch, as it’s one of the most divisive projects I’ve noted in a long time, and form your own opinion. And if you do genuinely think the show is good, please reach out to me, as I’d love to discuss what merit you see in the show, since I see none. "
