"Watched it all in one weekend! Really enjoyed this but I’m annoyed at the fact that these girls are literally pushed to their limits and aren’t even being paid a livable wage? Then they go on to justify this pay inequity by saying “the exposure and privilege” is what is most important. For a huge organization, you’d think they’d be able to pay these dancers (who arguably generate a significant amount of revenue with merch and appearances) a fair wage."
"WOMEN ARE SO AMAZING!! cheer is my favorite documentary ever. i was ecstatic to watch this. greg whiteley is so incredible at what he does. i empathize with these girls so much, it is so hard to have a passion that takes such a toll on you, it is hard when that passion concludes and you’re left to find yourself outside of it. they are so brave and strong. this was empowering and honest. "I needed something to watch and occupy my brain. Glad I gave this a shot. Learning about what goes into being a DCC Cheerleader isn’t easy, their lives are different from year to year, are unknown. They never know what their future has in store and being part of DCC has been a dream for these girls since they were children. Never judge a cheerleader. "
