"Given the concept of the show, I think it's fair to say that what is depicted are the worst moments of these characters' lives. I say this, because I really didn't like most of them, but it'd be hard to find a logical or realistic way of portraying them so that I do like them. And me not liking them is not a point against the show, because the writers and actors made sure to still make their hate-able characters an entertaining watch. Personally, my favorite was El Charro, and he's a terrible person, but the actor (Alberto Guerra) did such a good job with the role, I was left impressed. And while it seems the show wasn't for everyone, I personally really enjoyed it. I loved the anticipation, the separate storylines, and the way many familial and marital topics were brought to light through every emotional outburst. Due to the lower ratings, I'm rounding mine up:) 9/10🎈
P.S. For those skeptics, the accident that occurs with the bounce house flying away, that has actually happened, and the show addresses that. These accidents lead to a lot more injuries than fatalities, but the message is still getting pushed. Other accidents can occur too, where the children are inside and the house suddenly deflates which can lead to suffocation (it's not very easy to get out when your ground becomes unstable and the ceiling is caving in, and that material is very heavy). This is a complicated show to rate because on the one hand I loved the intricate richness of the storylines, but on the other hand I felt like the overall narrative became a bit bogged down with too many themes. The exceedingly violent impulses also became a bit wild and unbelievable in regards to a particular character. The accident itself is profoundly complicated to evaluate from a moral perspective. Just a few minutes can be the difference between life and death. One moment everything is fine and the next tragedy strikes, leaving these people internally torn up and forever changed. They can no longer see the world the same or know how to move forward in this newly emotional wasteland. It just eats them from the inside out. However, where does the mistake end and punishment begin for a careless accident? Unthinking lapses in judgment happen, but when they involve unintentionally life-or-death stakes and children how does that change how we’re assessing and processing that person in our justice system?
Virtually none of the characters are likable, this isn’t a show you watch for that. You watch it for impassioned deliveries, emotional explosions, and traumatized, deeply messed up people trying to navigate the inner workings of their all-consuming grief. That grief can render them broken, thus causing them to go to extreme lengths in the name of their children and go to extreme lengths they do. This was so well-acted. I felt an emptiness in fact as soon as it was done because it pivotally addressed varied evils and how sometimes we mask our true selves as a temporary form of protection. It is quite the lively adventure that doesn’t shy away from messes or moral, emotional, and legal quandaries! Get ready for the ride of your life! "
"I couldn’t get through the first episode. “The accident” was terrible and not even close to being realistic. They talk about drugs, people being rich snobs, worry about work phone calls over what is happening… their kids bday party, make inappropriate sexual comments, etc. I found the first 30 mins so awful I turned it off. I don’t recommend this limited series at all. "
"I had to watch all 10 episodes to see how it would end but I couldn’t wait to get to the end. Just wasn’t that good. "

"The first episode is cringe. Horrible storyboarding. Then the last 2 minutes and the show gets exponentially better episode by episode. "

"Greasy daytime soap opera stuff. Really should have been 8 episodes max. I don't know if this is a cultural thing but the women depicted in this are Absolutely dreadful. The seem to be character written by angry ex-lovers, and I get it, I know firsthand partners can be this bonkers but like, please give one woman with some redeeming qualities. Who isnt some insufferable combination of histrionic, narcissistic, abusive, clueless, greedy, shameless, selfish or just a complete moron. Can't stand the girl who looks like she's got a really bad tummy ache and just let loose a torrent of diarrhea in every scene SPOILERS:
The guys weren't all that better. Certainly not David or psychotic Charro. But God bless Moncho and the cuck dude who did the puzzle for the insane chick who wanted pregnant the day after her son was killed in a freak accident. Oh and Alex. Hang in there lil buddy
Also, biggest wtf ever: David and Lupita and her sons spirit. Holy ****.
