"The first time I watched this anime, it took me four episodes to get into it. I thought it was going to be a typical boring story about a crappy dude who whined about his life and didn't do anything about it. Which it is, at first. It really gets going when you start getting into the alternative universe aspects and the more philosophical/abstract moments. This is definitely an anime you need to devote your full attention to or you might miss key aspects. Not a background anime."
