Tokyo is abuzz with persocoms – humanoid computers that are virtually perfect. The socially and technologically inept Hideki is dying to get his hands on one. When he finds Chii abandoned in the trash, she’s cuter than any current model he’s ever seen before. But when he gets her home and turns her on, she has no data and only a single learning program installed. While Hideki puts his whole heart into teaching Chii the ins and outs of humanity, a mystery unfolds as a dark secret within her awakens.

"What the hell am I watching ? Also maybe interesting on a philosophical level but it’s about a robot girl with between me down there on/off switch 😵💫 which is objectively kinda fcked up but it’s based on a manga written by a team of female writers ? What does one make of this program? Who is this for? That op is funky as heck tho 😎"
"This was the first anime I ever watched that wasn't on Toonami (ie Sailor Moon & DBZ), and I loved it at the time. The art style and character designs are cute. It hits that sweetspot between the classic anime "look" while having the clean lines and animation of modern anime. There's many funny bits; although on rewatch, I realize I was a very dirty minded child because many of the jokes are downright perverted in stereotypical anime fashion. Not really an anime for kids but I digress...
The early episodes of the show having a unique but enjoyable pacing. Kind of calm and slow at times, but in a relaxing way rather than boring. As the story unfolds, the show becomes a lot more engaging. My biggest gripe with the series is the ending is very rushed and confusing. I wish they had taken their time with it like they did in the earlier episodes."
