Æon Flux is set in a bizarre, dystopian future world. The title character is a tall, leather-clad secret agent from the nation of Monica, skilled in assassination and acrobatics. Her mission is to infiltrate the strongholds of the neighboring country of Bregna, which is led by her sometimes-nemesis and sometimes-lover Trevor Goodchild. Monica represents a dynamic anarchist society, while Bregna embodies a police state.

"I saw the series when I was much younger. As I rewatch the episodes today, I realize now that Aeon is a super spy with a knack for fetishes and passion. This culture she lives in is free and open with their bodies and minds. No wonder MTV aired this in the early morning hours after kids were supposed to be asleep! 🤭🤫😉"
"I love the anime style in this. The whole thing pandered to the niche cult classic collections I scavenged as a art student. I gobbled up this little morsel like a pretentious trash panda. As I said the style is cool, but the story? Well there really isnt one. It's set in a high tech dystopian world and is a compilation of meetings between to characters who are perpetually cat and mousing. If I remember correctly it was weirdly hypersexual and there was 0 dialogue. Now I'm wondering why I rated it do high. I guess just for the cool art."
"One of my all time favourite shows! I watched an interview with the creator and was astonished to find put that the character, Aeon, was never meant to live by the end of each episode.
After seeing the first episode, in my very early teens, I remember wanting to be Aeon. She was my hero, and did everything I wished I could do and more! "
