"Deadwood is my favorite show, so I’ve always been on the lookout for Ian McShane appearing elsewhere. However, I’d never tried Lovejoy because it was about antiques and it’s an 80s BBC production, so I thought it would be dry and boring. It’s actually a lot of fun. McShane plays him as this charming rogue, who operates at the outskirts of the law, flipping antiques. Though the show is very lightweight, it’s a great showcase for him, as he gets to show all of these different aspects of his personality. Tonally it reminds me of the series on the USA network in 2000s, like White Collar and Burn Notice. I’m only a few episodes in, but I can tell this is going to perfect show to throw on when I’m working on something or just want something light to watch."
