"This is my guilty pleasure if I ever had one, it makes me feel like a kid again and I think one of the reasons it's done so well with the YA crowd is because it feels more like the shows we grew up with. I love this show, and while I want Marinette and Adrian together, I also know that means everything is over and I've really enjoyed this slow burn and teasing. For now just looking forward to more S5 eps to be released!"
"I'd heard about this show from friends, then I checked it out. Sadly, the episodes were not in order, & it threw me off. Luckily, in the 1st episode, I watched Stormy Weather, & it got the job done (still think it's the 1st episode). Point is, before you start, just know the episodes won't be in order. In fact, it's part of the viewing experience now to put them in order. I've made my own list, & you can make your own or look another up.
Now to the actual show. It's good. It has action, drama, relationships, romance, & just fun quirky characters that only get better with time. There's an overarching plot as well as intriguing episodes so you want to stick with it. I will admit the episodes get better the further in you go, but that could also be due to me rewatching the earlier episodes so many times figure out the order.
It's not perfect though. Sometimes, you wonder how the town can be so dumb & not figure things out, which throws you out of the suspension of disbelief. But the plot is simple for kids yet intriguing enough you won't get bored. It's no ATLA. It's actually more along the lines of Sofia the first. Starts off with a good enough idea that should hook you, & by the 3rd season you won't ever stop. It's got the heart you want for a kids show while also maintaining your interest even in the suckier episodes. No TV show is without them.
Now I know I warned you about the messed up order in episodes, but despite that hiccup I stuck with this show. I even rewatched episode upon episode looking for every tiny possible clue I could & analyzing every line & scene for any signal as to what episode might go before or after it. That's a lot of energy & time I spent into a show that didn't even start by hooking me with the real order. The fact that this show can make me such a dedicated fan before I even watched the 1st full season in its proper order says enough. It's great, & the characters keep you invested when you may lose interest."
