"🧐 What do people actually like about this series?? I’m 2 episodes in & it’s not grabbing me — except for Maggie Gyllenhall’s & Dominique Fishback’s characters… and it’s #seedy as heck… And #disgusting — The acting is all excellent, and yes, it’s a good & #gritty depiction of NYC in the #1970s (& the objectification of women sex-workers), but it’s just so gross!!!! 🤢 I don’t get it … Why the high score on IMDB??"
"Really good show. Unexpectedly it gets better as it goes on. Not amazing, there was something about it that I can’t quite put a finger on that just didn’t measure up to the era it was portraying. Still, a lot of great characters and stories, the ending, whilst not original but quite fitting. 4+ overall. I enjoyed it. "
