The multigenerational epic follows two concurrent time periods: One, the story of young Eli McCullough after he is kidnapped and indoctrinated into a tribe of Comanches in 1849. The other, 60 years later, when we see a grown Eli struggle to maintain his family’s cattle empire during the turbulent Bandit Wars of South Texas. Based on Philipp Meyer’s acclaimed novel.

"For those of us that love and miss Yellowstone and the prequels, I stumbled upon this little known multi-generation epic, on AMC+, that is a more than adequate substitute. It tells the tale of Eli McCullough and the McCullough family across two different timelines, 1850 when young Eli was captured by the Camanche, and 1915 where a much older Eli is the patriarch of his own family in South Texas, is a land owner and has aspirations to get into the oil business. Colonel Eli McCullough is played by Pierce Brosnan and young Eli is played by Jacob Lofland (from Landman). There is a full cast of characters that battle each other... Indians, lawmen, the government, the townsfolk, the McCullough family, and the Mexican Garcia family... All vying for Texas's most valuable commodity, LAND. It's only 2 seasons but is packed with great storytelling, and all the action and intrigue needed to scratch that Yellowstone itch. Season 2 even introduces another timeline, 1988. I'm almost finished with the second season but couldn't wait to recommend it. I wouldn't say that it is AS GREAT as Yellowstone, but it's damn close. So check it out. 8.5/10"
