"The story in this series centers around a Black girl; but, the protagonist is a white male, because—America. Racial issues are largely ignored and there are some attempts at creating a father/daughter or protector/ward dynamic between the characters to get into the girl's story. Generally, this all does coalesce into a decent television thriller with fantasy and sci-fi elements. Late in the series, things get rushed to conclusion due to an unexpected cancellation. All that being said, I liked it"
