The definition of "tourism" is redefined as New Zealand filmmaker David Farrier sets his sights on the world of dark tourism. From nuclear tourism in Japan to Pablo Escobar-inspired tourism in Columbia to frontier tourism in Turkmenistan, David visits the world’s grisly and offbeat destinations, meeting travelers drawn to them, and the people telling these stories day after day.

"I was absolutely obsessed with this show last summer. I have never really been into tourism or travel (not that I'd go any of locations in this show), but as a horror fan this really interested me. There is sadly only one season and watch with awareness and caution. Some of these "destinations" come off as a bit insensitive or exploitive... Probably why there's only one season. THE INTRO CREDITS SLAP THOUGH! "
"I've seen this series about 3 or 4 times from showing different people how interesting it is. I love travel and tourism, but getting sick of the cookie cutter travel shows (eat this, see this, do this). You TRULY have a new understanding about how different the world can be from what we consider normal. "
"I just binge-watched this show and I can say it is now easily one of my favorites. It offers the viewer an all access pass behind the scenes, showing shocking cultural practices, risky encounters with government officials, and the horrendous impacts of disasters. Not for the faint of heart, I’d highly recommend it to fellow adventurers with plenty of morbid curiosity!"
