Columbo is a friendly, verbose, disheveled-looking police detective who is consistently underestimated by his suspects. Despite his unprepossessing appearance and apparent absentmindedness, he shrewdly solves all of his cases and secures all evidence needed for indictment. His formidable eye for detail and meticulously dedicated approach often become clear to the killer only late in the storyline.

"This detective managed to grab the attention of multiple generations, as it was my grandfather's favorite, my mom's favorite, and now one of my favorites. Columbo gets the criminal by being unassuming and getting on people's nerves. The references to his wife, who you'll never meet, and family are enjoyable. This show proves that, just because you know who the criminal is, doesn't mean the process at proving the criminal guilty has to be boring. #crime #justonemorething #drama #complex_characters #crime_drama"
"Still watch reruns. Excellent portrayal "

"Columbo is the quintessential murder mystery show that paved the way for all others that followed, but has yet to be outdone in the over 20 years since its end. Peter Falk’s depiction of the titular Lieutenant Columbo, and his unorthodox methods to bring moneyed murderers to justice is unlike so many other Detective-centered murder mysteries out there. This show always finds the right balance between being compelling and comedic, and never takes itself too seriously. Each episode typically featured a cameo performance by one of the most in-demand actors of the time, who usually played the calculating killer who could have gotten away with it if it weren’t for Columbo. When stacked up to the likes of iconic baddies played by Leonard Nimoy, Vincent Price, Gene Barry (and many more!), Falk always shined due to his expert crafting of an unpretentious, charming, and inscrutably smart Detective that always closes the case. Colombo is a beloved and binge-able anthology that ran for almost 4 decades, solidifying the show as one of the Greatest Of All Time. "
"One of the greatest detective stories of all time. Unfortunately the quality deteriorated in the end"
