Alexia Maccon, the Lady Woolsey, awakens in the wee hours of the mid-afternoon to find her husband, who should be decently asleep like any normal werewolf, yelling at the top of his lungs. Then he disappears; leaving her to deal with a regiment of supernatural soldiers encamped on her doorstep, a plethora of exorcised ghosts, and an angry Queen Victoria. But Alexia is armed with her trusty parasol, the latest fashions, and an arsenal of biting civility. So even when her investigations take her to Scotland, the backwater of ugly waistcoats, she is prepared: upending werewolf pack dynamics as only the soulless can. She might even find time to track down her wayward husband, if she feels like it.Changeless is the second book of the Parasol Protectorate series: a comedy of manners set in Victorian London, full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

"Oh wow! That ending! Who would have saw that coming?! Not me, certainly. Once again, Emily Gray gives an outstanding performance in this reading of Changeless. I never got around to reading this book after the first, but now that I tried out this series on audiobook, I'm hooked! Emily Gray is fast becoming my all time favorite female reader (female because it will take a lot to dethrone Holter Graham).

So much happens in this book. Someone is out to get Alexia. She has more to concern herself with as there is something plaguing the supernatural crowd, keeping them human instead of supernatural. There is a spy in their mist that keeps interfering with her work. I enjoyed the whole story and loved watching it play out. As I already said, the ending left me a bit shocked and dazed and I can't wait to go on to the next book."
"Souless, the first book in the Parasol Protectorate was good but Changeless far surpassed expectations. Dirigibles, attempted murder, a particularly nifty parasol and the inability of the supernatural to change makes for an exciting continuation of Alexia, formerly Tarabotti, Maccon's story. Changeless is a thrill ride of plot twists and turns that will leave one breathless and frantically tracking down Blameless in the quickest way possible, no matter the cost. Reading Souless in book form was all fine and good but the audiobook experience was far superior especially under the wonderful care of narrator Emily Gray. Each character had a distinct quality made possible by Ms. Gray with skillful portrayal of each characters voice inflections based on each personality with flawless grace. The confrontation and conversations kept the reader on their toes till the bitter end with the reader wondering what will happen next. Brilliant sequel and looking forward to listening to Blameless, the next installment of the Parasol Protectorate. Highly recommended."
