"These stories were more sad than spooky. The scariest thing about them was the existential dread about just being an adult. Most of the stories didn't have satisfactory endings (or much of a resolution at all), which made them feel pointless to read and increased my post-read depression. I didn't particularly love Bird Box either, but if I gave that a 3.5, this would get a (generous) 2.5. If you want a creepy collection of stories you're better off reading Growing Things by Paul Tremblay."
"6 somewhat interconnected stories about the strangeness in Goblin city. Some are a bit eerie while others a bit lacking. Josh Malerman fans will eventually find this and it is worth a read. Was enjoyable, well suited for Halloween season. Still thinking about how the dead are buried in Goblin."
"I really enjoyed this book. I first read this Author with Bird Box which is another book I enjoyed so when I saw his name on this book I grabbed it from the library and I'm glad I did. If I have any complaints I just wish that the ending would have been a little more flushed out. I loved the way it ended but I just wish there was a little bit more explanation about how that came to be. That's just my personal opinion. Either way I still enjoyed the book enough to give it four stars and I would recommend."
