Early Spring

"A slow paced story of infidelity and the tedium of office work. A young man working in an office meets and courts a woman known as Goldfish because of her large eyes. The young man is married and he provides excuses to his wife for his absences. The movie employs ma or pauses during the story . The pace is casual and embraces Japanese domestic life with many settings typical of Ozu’s style. This move has less humor than earlier movies but handles the emotional spectrum well."
