"Based on the 23 books series by CJ Box about a principled, regular guy, Wyoming game warden and the corruption he faces. I never read any of the books as they didn’t sound interesting to me. Took me a couple months to finish this. Wasn’t bad but not really good either. I think they miscast the MC. "

"The streaming version of Joe Pickett is significantly less interesting than the books. The actor who plays Pickett is low key to a fault. Pickett is a basket case, hallucinating himself as a young boy and basically being MIA for his children and wife as he hunts bad guys in Wyoming. In season 2, his wife gets into the act, with both of them wielding guns and fighting bad guys as Marybeth’s wine-drinking mother watches their kids. Too much angst, too much sadness, almost no joy"

"** NO SPOILERS ** Honestly the first episode has you wondering…what am I watching this for, because let’s face it terrible CGI makes you wonder what you stay invested for. HOWEVER this series did not disappoint and I’m so sad there isn’t going to be a third season. You start rooting for Joe and his family the whole way. Marybeth also gets more and more into the storyline and soon becomes your favorite character. Her mother on the other hand…and the deputy she dates…WOW. Just wow…if you try this series and you get to see what I mean…you’ll be laughing when it “surprisingly” goes downhill between them. Watching this family overcome tragedy and become stronger was very heartwarming especially his daughter’s views on family. 100% recommend. "
