"Violent. Depressing. Intriguing. Cliché in places. Strange. Sanderson's characters and plot points can get simplistic at times, but it was still an interesting story. I still wanted to find out what would happen; I felt compelled to seek out the why behind the mystery. But I did feel a little morose by the end. Certainly not a feel-good or lighthearted read.

Rated mature for fairly graphic violence."
"It was interesting having the first half of the book from her perspective and then the second half of the book from his perspective, instead of having it alternate between chapters. I really enjoyed having the two life check-ins at the end of the book instead of just one.

All in all, it was a good book, just not one of the best I have read so far this year."
"Excellent story with Amos Decker trying to clear the name of Meryl Hawkins who was accused of murdering 4 people 13 years ago. Turns out Meryl didn't do it, and there was a big conspiracy going on in Burlington, Ohio that he uncovers during the investigation. Mary Lancaster is back as well as Melvin Mars. Agent Bogart and Alex Jamison aren't involved too much until towards the end of the story."
"I really enjoyed Leana and Mikhail's story. It was nice to see them accept each other even with their differences and their prejudices. I loved the action and the drama throughout the story that just ends up drawing them closer together. The twists and the turns added in made this story even better and the different twist to vampires just amped up the action. I'm not sure how I feel about Daniel and Rohan, but they add their own special flare to the story and it seems to work."
"I love this series and am ready for the next one. When I’m done with the series I’m going to try another series of David Baldacci."

"Again, great story. Only thing is, as I haven't played the games, I wish there could be a novella about what happens in infinity blade III, but reading the wiki page I suppose is well enough. Though I'm now tempted to play the game as well."
