"It’s a retelling of fictional and real marvel history from the eyes of the photographer, Phil Sheldon. Starting in WW2 we follow the early years of superheroes in tandem with Phil’s career and how his life is shaped by them. Phil is our POV character and an Everyman but he has his own personality. Such as how he was resentful of superheroes having so much power but comes to appreciate the good they do. The story attempts to be grounded in a world of powerful beings. It succeeded largely due its lead and focus on humanity. The series is beautifully painted by Alex Ross."
