"4.5 ⭐️ This sequel to Defy the Night continues all of the politics, intrigue and never knowing who you can trust aspects that I loved so much from the first book! The brotherly bond between Corrick and Harristan is everything. The stakes are high and both brothers find themselves in some serious trouble. I do wish that when we hit the climatic ship battle towards the end, that we got to hold on to that tension for a while longer. We wait for this face off that’s coming for a good majority of the book and it was just over too quickly. Gimme more! I am headed to the last book in the series as soon as possible because…that cliffhanger though."
"Okay, wth was even that ending? I need a part three right now 🥹😵💫. Other then that. I like the plot. The story intensified and the romance for once in this one series isn't a toxic waste. The characters are still amazing with their insecurities and the problems they go through. #partthree"
"When I finished the first book I was so thrilled to read this one, but the plot and the pace of the book felt so out of place and just didn’t feel like it fit. I really liked the new characters a lot, and the development of the others from the first book was really good. But I feel like the end was so sudden and just un satisfying, the plot felt very random. Unlike the first book which made me want to read more, this book left me feeling incomplete and confused. If this was a stand alone book I would definitely say it was better but it doesn’t feel like it fits into the series. Even though it wasn’t super good I still recommend reading it because there are a few good moments that I really liked. it doesn’t really feel connected to the first book, but the characters felt more built than before and overall more complete."
"I think this second book is better than the first! Absolutely fallen for Corrick and Harriston. And I love the plot twists. So fun."
