"I really liked this book, it didn’t go in the direction that I was expecting, but I still really enjoyed it. I listened to it as an audiobook so when the perspectives and time line switched I was a little confused on who I was following at first, but all in all pretty good. This is my second book by the author. "
"Bea is at the movies when she learns her parents were killed in a wreck and her little sister Lo is barely hanging on. Not of faith, Bea still goes to the chapel and starts praying for the first time. In walks Lev Warren the prophet who is goi b to save her sister. All she has to do is join The Unity Project and cut ties with her family. They have to find faith on their own. Desperate to save Lo, Bea joins. She falls in love with Lev, but also with Foster who she recruited to the project. Her and foster have sex once and Bea is pregnant with Emmy. They confess to Lev who forgives their sins by telling the congregation that he is the father and will not allow Bea to be the mother. He makes Foster emmys security so he has to see Bea and Emmy every day but not as emmys father. Bea is extremely unhappy and visits her parents grave when a rogue member of the project talks her into leaving. When she tries to leave and take Emmy lev and his right hand Casey find out and lev drowns her. Now back to Lo who is out of her coma and trying to be a journalist. She hasn’t seen or heard from her sister in 6 years when someone named Jeremy seeks her out and said she needs to find Bea immediately and then proceeds to jump infringe of a train Bea decides to work her way into the project to expose them but starts falling for it all when she meets foster abs Emmy. And starts to fall in love with Lev. The same rogue member releases a statement to the press about Lev and his abuse of his congregation by burning them and scalding them with water to purify them when they make mistakes. Lo doesn’t believe it until she’s in the receiving end for trying to leave. She ends up killing Lev, Casey goes to jail and foster gets Emmy. I think I wanted more in the ending of the book. We don’t know how Lev died. Nothing to tie up the end of The Project. No happy ending for Bea. That’s what keeps me from the 5 star."
