From a “master of outrageous black comedy," a cozy whodunnit mystery in which a meddling gossip columnist meets an untimely watery death (The Times Magazine). Constable Hamish Macbeth is one of several victims of Lady Jane Winters’s searing gossip column. Yet not even Hamish thought someone would permanently silence her—until her body is fished out of the river. Now with the help of the lovely Priscilla Halburton-Smythe, Hamish must find the murderer—but is he in over his head? Secrets are dangerous…and killers usually strike again.

"I wanted to love this since I feel like I should be a cozy mystery person, but this just really didn’t work for me. I was terribly bored and I couldn’t stand most of the characters, particularly Hamish Macbeth, which is a slight problem since he’s kind of the focus of the series. Maybe I’m just more of a hard boiled detective kind of girl, but I just didn’t enjoy this. Also, I hate fishing so even the subject matter wasn’t redeeming!"

"I enjoyed several in the series as audio but when the narrator changed I had difficulty continuing. Hope you enjoy it though."
