“The cinema-worthy rom-com of your summer reading dreams.” —Bustle “A sparkling summer story ideal for teens who are on that bittersweet cusp of change.” —Booklist “[A] romantic comedy of errors.” —Publishers Weekly Father of the Bride meets Sixteen Candles in the latest novel from New York Times bestselling author Morgan Matson.Charlie Grant’s older sister is getting married this weekend at their family home, and Charlie can’t wait—for the first time in years, all four of her older siblings will be under one roof. Charlie is desperate for one last perfect weekend, before the house is sold and everything changes. The house will be filled with jokes and games and laughs again. Making decisions about things like what college to attend and reuniting with longstanding crush Jesse Foster—all that can wait. She wants to focus on making the weekend perfect. The only problem? The weekend is shaping up to be an absolute disaster. There’s the unexpected dog with a penchant for howling, house alarm that won’t stop going off, and a papergirl with a grudge. There are the relatives who aren’t speaking, the (awful) girl her favorite brother brought home unannounced, and a missing tuxedo. Not to mention the neighbor who seems to be bent on sabotage and a storm that is bent on drenching everything. The justice of the peace is missing. The band will only play covers. The guests are all crazy. And the wedding planner’s nephew is unexpectedly, distractingly…cute. Over the course of three ridiculously chaotic days, Charlie will learn more than she ever expected about the family she thought she knew by heart. And she’ll realize that sometimes, trying to keep everything like it was in the past means missing out on the future.

"I live this book so gosh darn much! I just have a problem with the whole part how Charlie sides with her mother like HELLO!! POOR MIKE!!! #teammike! That’s all though. I come from a huge family (8 siblings) and I’m the second to youngest, so I really have a youngest child personality but Charlie is heavily the youngest, you know what I mean? Anyway I’m tired and this review is gibberish. Enjoy!

ALSO WHEN IS MM6 COMING OUT I NEED"
"I have have read all of Morgan Matson’s books at this point, and I have to say, this is my least favorite. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a great book, but I was slightly disappointed. I wasn’t a huge fan of Charlie, the main character, and I also didn’t really like the subplot about Charlie’s crush. I really liked her other siblings and how they developed, as well as some of the other very minor subplots.
Also, at times it ended up being super chaotic, which was to be expected (the summary had suggested that) but at points I just felt like it was super chaotic so much so that I needed to slow down to comprehend what was going on.
All in all it was still a good book and I do recommend it, but there are some places where I think it could have been better.
TL;DR I recommend as a 4 star book."
"I really enjoyed this book. A sweet little story about 17 year old Charlie gathering together with her 4 siblings for her older sister Linnie's wedding and all the crazy shenanigans that happen on the way. A fun read and great distraction. I've read another of Matson's books previously and remember really enjoying it."
"Amazing book- hilarious, great. Totally would recommend. 11/10. "

"Super funny rom-com about a family that is preparing for a wedding, where things start to go haywire the day before. You get a look into the main character Charlotte (Charlie) romantic moments, dysfunctional family, and her preparing to go to college. Definitely a book that will have you laughing and wanting to continually read. "
"I totally loved this! I get it’s for YA readers and all, but there are some messages for all ages in here, and a couple that really spoke directly to me. I, like Charlie, hate change. And I really struggled when I realized that all the things and places from my childhood weren’t going to be there forever. One of the toughest weekends for me was when my parents sold the house I had grown up in. And while I was 23, not 18, I still had the same emotions that the characters in this book do. And I’m also all about family, but I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not exactly the same between my siblings and I that it’s always been, because it can’t be. We all grow up and change, but it gives us opportunities to make those relationships better. I for one am so glad for those changes, though I would never have realized it at the time, and I feel like this book captures those initial feelings so well. Such a great read, and perfect if you, like me, have a wedding to attend soon!"
