"Huge fan of Johnny Sims from Magnus. He's wonderful at crafting the creeping, eerie one-shots that slowly start to connect. Unfortunately, I think the conclusion isn't quite effective. But I don't really care because, I very much enjoyed everything else. 🥰 Lovely, atmospheric creepiness. "
"Very well written! All the characters had a good amount of depth considering the length of the story, and the overarching plot was magnificent! An insightful commentary on the dissidence between the rich and the poor. There were a few distracting grammatical errors, and a couple instances of words popping up in the middle of sentences that shouldn’t have been there, but they’re not too big of a problem. "
"Literally amazing. Fantastic writing, incredible storytelling. If you like books that start off a little confusing, but gradually everything comes together through small details this is the PERFECT book for you. It’s also very anti police and anti billionaire, with themes of classism and other systemic problems. Also has sprinkles of casual lgbtq representation. 10000000/10 story and writing (the only thing i would say is that the ending was very abrupt, but still satisfying!!) "
"Just finished this book! While it’s not related to The Magnus Archives it was really interesting to read and see the similarities between Thirteen Storeys and TMA, both how he writes and what he writes. It was such a great read, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Jonathon Sim’s works, or anyone who’s just looking for a some good anti-capitalist horror. (That is to say, the horror is capitalism)"
