The Slow Regard of Silent Things

"Did I enjoy this? Yes. Would I ever read it again? No. This is not for everyone but in all fairness Rothfuss warns you about that. Honestly, I would read a product description if he wrote it. To dive into Auri's world was still a mystery. You cannot predict the way she thinks or what she does but that is okay. It is what makes her charming and I don't want to lose that. Though this didn't give much insight I am still glad I read it. This world has become one of my favorite places to escape. It took me a while to pick this story up. If you are a fan of Rothfuss's work you are aware of the time it takes him to write them. So I didn't want to rush myself. As much as I plead to the cosmos for the third book the waiting is beautiful and I don't want the story to end. It would be cool to have a map of the Underthing but also the mysterious nature of it makes it worthwhile. The illustrations gave a sense of depth to the world at least. And how does Rothfuss make you sad over someone losing an object, I will never understand. I thought the writing was wistful but I'm troubled that Rothfuss apologized for this book time and time again. I didn't love it, no but I'm still glad I read it. Auri's world is not for everyone and that's okay."

But I think that might reflect a lack of imagination/understanding. Auri clearly has an affinity for names, a part of the magic system, which she uses to sense things well beyond normal human perception. I think there's more to this book than meets the eye."
