In it is a plea from his father, who has been kidnapped by the Russian Mafiya. As Artemis rushes to his rescue, he is stopped by Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon fairy police. But this time, instead of battling the fairies, he is going to have to join forces with them if he wants to save one of the few people in the world he loves. "Fowl is back to plotting (but starting to gain a moral compass) and an action-packed adventure awaits. Almost too action-packed for me, I'm too logical, and near-death experiences left and right start to take away from their excitement. Nevertheless, these are easy reads that I fly through them. I don't need to be contemplating much while listening to this, which is relaxing and needed every once in a while. Grub does take away from the series I bit for me, he's just plain annoying. But most books have their vices.
For a middle-grade series, it hits the nail on the head. I can't wait for book three. "
