Jude Deveraux
New York Times bestselling author Jude Deveraux will capture your heart with this miraculous time slip romance between a modern woman and a literal knight.Dougless Montgomery has tried everything to achieve the perfect balance between self-sufficient and sexy, independent and agreeable—exactly the kind of girl she thinks a man would want. Still, she finds herself weeping upon a cold tombstone in an English church, rejected and abandoned by her boyfriend on a vacation she planned. Suddenly, Nicholas Stafford, Earl of Thornwyck appears before her but according to his tombstone, he died in 1564. Despite their shock and the countless differences between a 20th-century girl and a 16th-century nobleman, Dougless and Nicholas are drawn together by a bond that defies reason. Dougless has finally found what she’s been searching for: someone who does not seek to change her, who finds her perfect, fascinating, just as she is. But neither is prepared for the strength of their ties to the past…or the grand adventure that lies before them. Hailed worldwide as one of the most romantic novels of all time, A Knight in Shining Armor is “the epitome of every woman’s fantasy” (Daily Herald, Chicago).

"This was my 1st book by Jude Deveraux. While I consider her books the best in light romantic reads, "A Knight in Shining Armor" is #1 on my list. To this day, it is still the best romance Im not a second or third read person; but I have read this one 3 times, and am about to read it again. Deveraux takes us on a romantic trip thru time with 2 star-crossed lovers. If you are looking for a great romance book, and like a bit of fantasy, this book is for you. #romance #fantasy "
"Now that I'm a little older the heroine is annoying... I remember reading this book when I was a teenager and I absolutely loved it. It was romantic and I truly enjoyed the time travel aspect of it.<br/><br/>This book is beautifully written by the author, I enjoyed the style of writing and the love scenes were sexy but tasteful. However, revisiting this book in my late twenties I can't find anything relatable about the main character Douglass. Call it growing up and coming into my own but I found Douglass to be frustrating to no end. This woman cries way too much to be believable. She spends a lot of time being trampled on and crying about it. I wanted her to have some backbone and to stop falling apart emotionally every time things didn't go her way or someone said something out of the way to her. I'm surprised the woman wasn't dehydrated by the end of the book with the amount of crying she did.<br/><br/>Additionally, it is a little dated for the modern reader/listener which was a little bit of a turn off but overall I enjoyed the actual plot of the book. If you can get past the weak "onion eyed" heroine then by all means, but I can't say I'd recommend this book for anyone who is easily annoyed by an overly sensitive leading lady who doesn't seem to overcome her crying until...wait she never over comes it, nevermind.<br/>"
