THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER NOW A MAJOR FILM, STARRING STEVE CARELL AND BAFTA AND GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATED TIMOTHEE CHALAMET ‘It was like being in a car with the gas pedal slammed down to the floor and nothing to do but hold on and pretend to have some semblance of control. But control was something I'd lost a long time ago.’Nic Sheff was drunk for the first time at age 11. In the years that followed, he would regularly smoke pot, do cocaine and ecstasy, and develop addictions to crystal meth and heroin. Even so, he felt like he would always be able to quit and put his life together whenever he needed to. It took a violent relapse one summer to convince him otherwise. In a voice that is raw and honest, Nic spares no detail in telling us the compelling true story of his relapse and the road to recovery. He paints an extraordinary picture for us of a person at odds with his past, with his family, with his substances, and with himself.Tweak is a raw, harrowing, and ultimately hopeful tale of the road from relapse to recovery and complements his father’s parallel memoir, Beautiful Boy.Praise for Nic Sheff:- ‘Difficult to read and impossible to put down.’Chicago Tribune 'Nic Sheff's wrenching tale is told with electrifying honesty and insight.' "Talks about being a addict at age 22"

"After reading the book, beautiful boy, and others reviews I’m conflicted. I truly thought the layout of the book was great, it was written like diary entries so you really know what he went through and can picture him on the streets. There are times where you dislike Nic, or Lauren, etc. I genuinely hated Z throughout the book, but after other people genuinely saying he’s horrible and spoiled. That’s the purpose of the book??? It’s supposed to be real and raw.
I’ve known addicts in my life and they are spoiled and narcissistic. They say they’ll change, relapse, lie and steal. He’s not milking anything or hiding anything and I think that’s what made the book good.
Especially being able to compare the true story with Beautiful Boy (his fathers assumptions) is crazy. Some of the ways he relapses are just disappointing and you want to smack him but he has no will to get clean. They always say quitting an addiction needs to be because you want to, not other people want you to. And at the beginning Nic never wanted to be clean. He romanticized drugs too much.
Anywho, I enjoyed this book and disagree with many of the reviews which sucks because I think this book shows someone sober, how bad it really can be."

"This book was AMAZING. I saw a lady that was on drugs walking around on the street the day after I finished the book and I felt like I knew exactly what she was going through. It made me so emotional. The way he wrote this book created soo many graphic images in my head. It really felt like you knew him and were there with him watching his every action. "
"Gritty and difficult to read but worth it. Nic is insightful and tells his story with complete brutal honesty. "
