"1. This was an engaging book. That’s the only reason I was able to read it within the twenty-four hours that I did. It’s written super well. But…<br/><br/>2. I really hated the way this was. I cannot stand people allowing themselves to be treated like a garbage nor remain in situations where they are being treated like garbage.<br/><br/>3. The Hades/Persephone references made my eye twitch. A lot.<br/><br/>4. “The” Tourette’s. What the ****.<br/><br/>5. Some scenes made tears spring to my eyes. But I was left wholly unaffected by the point of this book: and that’s the relationship between Cillian and Persephone. At the end when they got together, I still wasn’t thrilled. The whole rocky ride to this point also did not thrill me. And in fact there were multiple instances where I stopped reading and said to myself “that’s not how this works, that’s not how any of this works…”<br/><br/>6. But good for LJ Shen for writing a book based on Boston and never once mentioning some ****** vacation to the Cape! Four for you Glen Coco."
