"4.5 ⭐️ This is the second book in The Crimson Moth duology and I was here for it! The story picks up a couple months after the cliffhanger ending of the first book and had me gripped from the start. The only thing that mildly annoyed me was the repetitive “I want this person but they are the enemy so I can’t” conversations that took place the first part of the book. Other than that, the magic, action and twists were great. I love a good duology and this one is going on my list of recommendations. "
"I really do love this duology together and it is 100% worth reading. I thought the magic system was unique and interesting, the world building was great, the characters were strong. I also really like how this book just drops readers right back into the story without giving lengthy recaps over what has previously happened. I genuinely loved the enemies to lovers (to enemies) trope in book one. I thought it was well written and it really captured my attention. Rune and Gideon tarting as enemies in this book was very short lived in my opinion so it didn’t have the same life or death enemies to lovers vibe. I didn’t really like the heavy miscommunication trope at the beginning. By the time I reached the ending, I was shocked at how few pages were dedicated to the “big conflict event”. I do think things wrapped up nicely at the end, but it did feel rushed. I’m torn about my rating for this book and I’m not sure it reflects how I feel about this book, but I didn’t feel like it was as good as the first one (which I rated 4⭐️) hence the lower star rating."
"this was a cute & quick lil ya duo. super fast paced which is nice. feel like its hard to deep dive into deep fantasy in 800 pages so for what it was it was a fun lil adventure!"
