"A beautifully written Novella that is part of a series. Tobias is 400 years old and belongs to the wood. He is a part of the wood and he can communicate with it and feel it’s movements. He meets a man, a human man, Henry Silver, that displays interest in Tobias and makes frequent visits. Every year Fabian comes and steals an unmarried young man from the village making him part of the wood and allowing Fabian to return every year. Tobias has warned silver to stay away, but Silver does not listen and is ultimately stolen away by Fabian.
The story continues as Tobias has become a man and can no longer feel the wood as before. Following a year of silvers disappearance, he goes into the wood looking for his remains and finds something else

I enjoyed this as a quaint little fairy tale of woods and gay love and the power to continue even when all seems lost."
